the Aruba Tourism Authority is interested in completing a study to determine the benefits associated for the destination in sponsoring the Summer Festival in Aruba. Below you will find additional information outlining ATA’s purpose and philosophy towards event marketing, background, and key requirements necessary for completing the proposal.
Desired outcomes of the Study:
During the term of this project, the contracted party shall deliver a study which shall reveal information on the following:
• The economic benefits to the destination and analysis of the visitor spend on island;
• Information on the traveler’s visit to the destination;
• Demographics of the visitors attending the event and if this is in line with the overall target market for the destination;
• Decision making process in the travel purchase of the visitor and what influence the festival had in this process;
• The visitor’s perceptions of the event and the perceived value;
ATA’s philosophy behind event marketing:
There are several reasons why Aruba, as a destination, engages in either the organization or sponsorship of events and festivals. The main benefits being pursued are amongst others:
• Stimulating the increase in visitor arrivals during specific “soft periods” of the year;
• Stimulating additional on-island spend and hereby increasing the well-being of the citizens of the island;
• Stimulating positive “news” about the island through the events --- creating “stories” to tell
• Increasing awareness of the island in key targeted markets through the promotional plan which is required through contract with the event organizers;
• Penetrating certain key markets which Aruba may not usually reach;
