Wanted: Independent Sales Reps that can sell high-ticket B2B custom software.
I run a small, growing, custom software development company. We've built software for companies nation-wide.
Typical types of customers:
* Law firms
* Oil & gas development companies
* Computer consultants and their customers
* Real estate investors
* Etc.
Types of systems we build:
* System that allows a large law firm to process large class-action lawsuits ($60,000 | $12,000 commission )
* Report compilation and processing system for a major retailer ($2,000 | $400 commission)
* Project Management automation system for an oil and gas contractor ($40k | $8,000 commission)
Our focus:
Custom software lends itself to a consultative sales process, so we've developed an intense focus on serving the customer - the questions we ask, how we conduct ourselves, are all focused on the exact needs of the customer.
We also focus on being friendly, informative and helpful.
How we would work together:
* I would spend a number of hours with you bring you up to speed on the types of projects and clients we've worked with in the past, and what our sweet spot is. For example, the law firm project I mentioned above would be a good base to build from - call into other law firms and see what they need. We have major name recognition with the client.
* I can set you up with an account on our CRM that you can use to manage prospects
* You would get 20% of the revenue on most projects. I have a gross profit target of 50%. If we're with that range, then you get 20%. If margin is less than that, we'll need to talk. Typical profit percent is more like 70% because we use overseas developers. My perspective on any situation with money (if you can't tell by the way I write) is to talk about it up front, and err on the side of benefiting the sales rep...happy sales reps sell more.
* You would be responsible for finding and developing leads. I would work with you on a deal to help you price and close the deal.
* Unless they're local, all sales would be over the phone / GoToMeeting.
