I need you to develop some software for me. I would like this software to be developed using C or C++. I need to build a pitch-detection algorithm (monophonic) that can accurately identify notes from 20-4500 hz and volume levels in dB. This algorithm must perform in real time and work on a teensy 3.2, as well as work with a piezo vibration sensor that will be attached to musical instruments. The algorithm must be able to filter out the ambient and harmonic frequencies so that the pitch sounding frequency and volume level can be converted into a midi format. Ultimately I will be assigning red green and blue color values to each Pitch so that the appropriate color for each note will eliminate on LEDs.

Hello. Have done similar job. I was using FFT for 128 samples, for your project we need, i think, (must be checked) around 512 samples, i was using STM32F100 at 24 MHz clock, and was able to deliver 64 rms of spectre for 20ms(calculation time). Level can be calibrated for db. No way to bypass harmonics, they are inherent for any non-sine signals. Maybe some smart alg for selection of winner. There is possibility to go also with wavelet.
