The object is to create an application which records or converts a single videofile where the aspect ratio changes within the file. The destination file should be a windows media video file (.asf or .wmv) where Data Unit Extensions are used to set the pixel aspect ratio. See also [login to view URL] [Windows Media Format 11 SDK Writing Streams with Non-Square Pixels] The input must be one of: * Live capture source (like pinnacle pctv) * AVI-file containing uncompressed audio+video * WMV-file It is ok to specify only one resolution/framerate which is supported. The output should be a WMV file playable with windows media player. Windows media player should automatically display the correct aspect ratio. The user interface can be either GUI or commandline. It must be possible to enter a input file (or device), a output file, and a number of positions where to switch the aspect ratio. At least 2 positions must be supported. The aspect ratios to switch between may be hard coded. Compiler: Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 (unmanaged C++, not C++/CLI) The sourcecode should be well structured, but we do not have any requirements on documentation. For example a commandline version can be used in the following way: ChangeAR [login to view URL] [login to view URL] 10 40 This will take [login to view URL], convert it to [login to view URL], where the first 10 seconds have a 3:4 aspect ratio. (3:4 is the hardcoded default) between second 10-40 there is a 16:9 aspect ratio (16:9 is the other aspect ratio) the rest of the file will have a 3:4 aspect ratio again. But this is only an example. A coder must specify which choices he/she makes. (commandline or gui, input format). Before accepting we can mutually agree on an example file to verify the software is working properly. In that case we will accept the result if that file can be converted as specified. If we have seen it working for one file, we can asume the basic funcionality is working.
