Detect annotation type in tif files

Hello,

I have 4 TIF files that I need someone to create code to detect their annotation types. The files contain the following annotation types:

1) No annotations

2) XMP annotations - the current standard for annotations. I believe that "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" creates these types of annotations, but I can't confirm that.

3) Wang annotations - the annotation type that was created by the Kodak/Imaging For Windows applications that came installed in Windows 2000 and earlier.

4) A proprietary annotation format (at least I think its proprietary, however the "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" application can view these annotations, but doesn't create these types of annotations.

I basically am in a situation where I need my application to be able to quickly look at a file and determine which of the above types of annotations the document contains (each document will only contain one of the types of annotations) so I will know which viewer to open the file with.

The options are 1) none 2) xmp 3) wang 4) proprietary.

The code should be in vb.net (framework 3.5).

If you are also able to convert the annotations to the xmp format, please let me know and I will create a new project for that.

Thanks,

Reagan
