The finished product will be a table where the user will enter the ISBN of a book. There will be a second field for the title of the book which the program should collect from the internet. There will be a third field for a price that is set by the user for each book. Further fields to display results stated below.
When requested, the program will collect the price for both new and used copies of the book from a number of bookselling sites - [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], Alibris. The prices to be collected being the total cost to buy the book (ie, book price plus postage cost to mail the book to the UK) in GBP. The table will then display the lowest price for both used and new copies of the book. There would also be a hyperlink to the site with the lowest priced new and used book (perhaps the displayed price could be set to be a hyperlink too).
For each ISBN the user will be able to set a 'buy price', this being either a % of the price set in the third field or a fixed price, whichever the user wishes. The size of the % will be adjustable and set by the user before each run. The same % will apply to all ISBNs in the table unless over-ridden by a fixed price set by the user.
If any of the prices collected from the internet are below the 'buy price' this should be highlighted to be easily noted by the user. The user would then be able to click on the hyperlink to investigate further.
