Each student must submit a final paper which outlines his/her chosen integrative approach to counseling. Your paper should address:
Selected theories: Which theories did you select and why? (You must integrate at least two)
Make sure to address why these theories match well with your personality (how do you relate to them/why do you like them/how do they complement you as a person)
Goals for Therapy: What are the most important goals for therapy via your approach?
Role of the therapist: What is role and function as a therapist?
Techniques: What techniques would you be likely to apply?
Expectations of the Client: What would you expect from your client?
Diversity: How you address issues of cultural diversity?
This is considered a formal paper; therefore, it should have an APA title page, headings/subheadings, and a reference page. You should use the text as one reference and integrate at least one other academic reference (journal article, book etc. – not an online source). Use this Final Paper Format as a guideline.
Your response MUST your own original work. Any material taken from the text or any other source must be quoted and cited appropriately. Plagiarized responses are subject to the university’s academic misconduct violation policy and will result in a 0 for the final paper.
Your final paper should be 3-5 pages long (excluding title page and reference page). It should demonstrate university-level writing skills (complete sentences, proofread, etc.).
