Let me tell you a bit about me: I'm a US citizen (Boston is closest to home) and have been a resident of Florence, Italy for the past seven years. I have recently been focusing on my travel writing - which you can find on my website at Lisaharveywriter.com.
I first moved here in 2012 for a tour guide position for American students studying around Europe - which I did for a year and a half, and in that time I also started writing. Even though I said it wouldn't happen, I found my husband here and got married. I've been freelancing full-time for the past few years primarily doing translation, writing, and editing for the tourism and hospitality industries both local and abroad. Of course, most of this has been focused on insider-knowledge of Florence especially, seeing as it's my neighborhood. :-)
My normal rates are a bit above what you're looking to spend for this project at $1 per word. However, if this was an ongoing collaboration, I would be happy to negotiate rates with you!
I have previously written for AFAR, AARP, International Living, and BBC Travel. I also write for GoOverseas and have written for marketing agencies in collaboration with Google Trips, as well as smaller travel agencies in need of assistance with their itineraries and marketing campaigns that are targeting English-speaking customers.
