I have practical experience of working on I2C protocol. hence it will be easier for me to debug the issue you are facing.

I have 6 years experience in designing circuits of pic controller..where in various projects I used serial port as I2C communication to read memory data and also write memory and by rs422 and rs232 also..I used ports to send data to PC by usb also, and I m pretty sure that I can deliver the project much earlier than time..
