Developing a Trading Card Game Engine Software

As a 6-year self-taught software engineer with a current college education from Penn State University and previous experience writing many games, some of which were generic make-your-own-game type games such as you are desirous of. With this experience, I feel certain I can create the software you require; I can already think of two possible ways. The first, the game would have the creation engine built-in in the same software; users would create their game and save it as a data file, and only be able to play it through the same software they used to make it. This is the easy approach, though some menus may appear cluttered. The second, the software would come as a single bundle, being the creation software. The user would create their game the same way they would in the first method, but when they finalize their new game, the game engine is exported with this game data into a standalone application. This approach would be more aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly, for very little additional file size. For this approach, the game would have to run on Java, but could be wrapped in an executable file; such would also increase the extra file size required for the application export system, though not the complexity.
