automatic email and texts to customers who sign up

Hi there. I had a developer say they knew how to do this, so please do not respond if you do not know how to accomplish this test!! I will not release the funds if it does not work! I have a loan lender referral site and when people sign up with their information , I want to send them a 48 hour and then a 24 hour reminder via email AND TEXT message on their phones. I want this to be automatic meaning I don to need to click anything or manually do this. I have a text message service called grasshopper, but I do not know how you would use this to send text messages. Please let me know who knows how to do this and how long it will take. Thanks! I do not want the emails simply forwarded to one, I need them connected so that when an email is sent it is sent from the proper address. I use go daddy to log into my email outlook 365 accounts.
