We are seeking a proactive, responsive and effective assistant to work on word processing, report writing, data entry, and correspondence.
Proactive means you work on tasks without needing to be prompted to and creating communications about your work and status without being inquired. Responsive means you pay attention to details and listen carefully to instructions, and make adjustments and learn and improve as you work. Effective means you get quality work done in an efficient manner and put in the effort that is required to achieve good results.
Word processing: Your job will be to create documents by manipulating texts. You should be familiar with word processing applications like MS Word, Google Docs and others. You should be proficient and typing and editing texts, especially when it comes to copying, pasting and moving text from document to document. Punctuation, grammar and English reading and writing skills are imperative and anything less than perfect English will not suffice. If you aren't confident in your English reading and writing skills, this is probably not the job for you.
Data Entry, Report Writing: You'll be asked to enter data into various reporting tools. You're required to report your work for example. We heavily rely on the use of spreadsheets. You should have at least a basic understanding of how spreadsheets work. Especially Google Sheets. We use Google sheets a lot. You do not need advanced skills for this but you should have some experience with using spreadsheets.
Correspondence: We use email to communicate. You should be in the habit of reading and responding to emails in a professional way. You should be proficient at writing emails and communicating effectively.
In general you need to have strong fundamental computer skills. If you aren't fundamentally sound with computers, there's no chance for you to be successful and have a long term job with us. We need someone who can be an integral and foundational part of our team, managing files, organizing folders, classifying work. If you aren't analytical enough and have a mind that can sift through a lot of detail, you might not do well. You should be able to handle a lot of computer based work without assistance.
You'll be working mostly independently but the quality of your work is part of the direct the inputs that go into the projects you're a part of. Your work quality will be judged by the project manager and you're expected to produce work in a timely fashion. Your work has to be formatted and delivered on spec or else it won't suffice.
