Sales order invoice & product matching application

We are an online retailer of books.
We require an application/system to match our customer invoices with their address details (provided in a text format), to their product order.
Please see the following workflow:
1 - A customer places an order for item y with us on Day1
2 - We place the order for item y on Day 1
3 - We receive item y from our supplier on Day 2
4 - We match item y to the correct customer (* this is where we need your help)
5 - We despatch the item to the customer
Rather than manually matching each product to the corresponding invoice, we would ideally like to scan the barcode (ISBN of a book) of the item and for an application to search the previous day's orders for that ISBN and print the customer's receipt.
