Seeking EXPERIENCED PLAYWRIGHT to adapt letters from a several years of correspondence into a full length stage script for two actors. The letters are between a soldier and his young wife while he was overseas. The letters have been transcribed into text and are searchable. This is a large project based on several thousand letters from both the soldier and his wife. Multiple photos are available that are intended to be included as projections in the final production. The creativity required is to assemble, verbatim, the exchanges into a structured dramatic form that reveals both the lives of the characters and the time period in which they lived. We are not looking to "make stuff up" but to create a lively drama based on the real words and experiences expressed in the letters. It is understood that this project, by its very nature, will take considerable time to complete. A small portion of this play has been started as an example of the style and point of view of the script and the characters. Writing would be for a negotiable fee to be paid as the work progresses. The playwright would be a "ghostwriter" and have no rights or ownership of the finished product as well as sign an NDA. Expertise with Final Draft software or another compatible script program is required. Only freelancers who can show that they have written more than two previous play/theatre scripts will be considered. Do not waste your time to apply unless you are an experienced playwright with a good sense of structure, dialogue and the theatre.
