I'm in Hawaii and on the wait list for the NEM (net energy metering) program that the local utility just cancelled. I am in the process of putting PV panels on my roof and want to incorporate a battery system to achieve some grid independence. My primary electrical engineering project is finding a way to draw power from my electric car to my home during a grid down situation. Secondly I'd like some advice besides that given by the PV contractor. Previous experience in PV battery systems would be helpful and being in Hawaii would be very helpful
