Hi an Kevin, Those Psu's can be a handy alternative for a particular power need, but they can also be notoriously noisy and not ideally suited for certain sensitive applications. The dc output can however be cleaned up but this will depend on the severity of the noise as well as the power-rail noise requirements of your amplifier. I am an electronics engineer with many years of circuit design experience in a number of fields. These would include analogue and digital Telecom's, ac and dc Power, and many more. I would like to assist with your project, but do have a few questions: Will it be possible for you to measure the 12v noise of your current power supply (frequency and amplitude) ?.
