I need a new wordpress 2-3page website based on my old website which I can send you the link for. I lost contact with my freelancer. I can provide a NZ$50 deposit milestone when we begin in a few days and the rest when the job is completed within 1-2 weeks. It's a simple website with an infographic of my freelancing skills at the top then a vertical CV timeline, then the five projects I'm working on due mostly july 2018 with a graphic novel (facebook page link available) due in december 2019. and social links at the bottom in a web - including facebook page for the studio. with an about me slider on the right hand side - 1 page but scrollable. Very simple site. My budget is around NZ$160
My business is a production studio - five projects in development right now. Sole trader for now but I hope to raise $160k to lease an office space and hire 3 crew. That will be the team and they will work part time while I work full time as ceo and writer/producer/designer - working constantly on creative projects over the year. We will need to sell at least 10k units of 1 product to keep going after that. Current focus of the business is freelancing - writing mentor, game content writer-for-hire, design document support, character designer and software tester. Also keeping a blog about gaming. And writing short fiction and song lyrics, producing micro-budget movies and tv shot on video, developing websites and software.
The studio will be about producing software, comic books, animation, film, web series, tabletop games and indie video games.
Do you like Invader Zim, The Maxx and Tony Wong/Jae Lee comics? Do you still play sega and nintendo, and ps1 - maybe a littel atari or c64? Do you think Will Wright, Ed McMillen, Richard Garfield and Playdead are true legends? Do you love The Onyx Path, 10tons, Exosyphen, Atomic Games and/or Zombie Orpheus Entertainment? Then you've come to the right place. If you like them, you'll love Mike Dot Studio content.
Imagination is a powerful force; once wrangled can birth tremendous discovery and perspective on the lives we experience. Through understanding the best and the darkest moments that force themselves upon us, brilliant and believable solutions can be spun. The characters and the worlds I create come from this imagination, practiced by a history of writing since childhood and a lifetime of world travel - traversing the globe four times over. As a disciplined and tenacious writer, my work has spanned screenplays, stage plays, non-fiction, novels, animation and short stories— In addition to a formal degree in creative writing, one of my manuscripts has won a mentorship paid for by the New Zealand Society of Authors.
I’m a novelist and gaming blogger, screenwriter, playwright, tv writer and comic book writer, art director for animation and micro-budget movie/tv producer, game designer/artist and writing mentor, freelance game content writer, software tester and cartoonist by trade.
Harnessing my creative ambition and desire to learn & produce, I am also an active member of the open source software/hardware community. Using writing as a medium, I contribute to Tripadvisor as a travel blogger and offer my expertise and guidance directly to those in need on a work-for-hire basis via Fiverr®. Wishing to foster creativity within my ever-expanding community, I have dedicated myself to helping people better articulate their ideas and raise awareness for creativity as a whole - organising entertainment events, producing open source software and games, and constantly exploring new mediums in which to express creative direction (such as attraction design and digital simulations of mechatronic art.)
Established within the New Zealand creative community, I look forward to hosting outdoor drive-in film marathons, and fundraising/funding a micro-budget student/amateur movie-making shot on video production grant…fostering the creativity, community, and culture of NZ.
I started out in film writing screenplays in the vein of Tales from the Crypt (TV) meets Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, or Trainspotting meets Star Wars, or Shrek meets The Goonies.
After a while I realised that if I wanted to earn a living I would have to train myself to write for a budget and to write strong marketable fiction – which is the main reason I settled on writing novels for young adults as well as games, short fiction, lyrics and scripts.
My first love is morbid realism fantasy, but I also enjoy writing action/drama, scfi and horror/comedy.
My scriptwriting style is a tug of war between action and argument – fiercely intellectual and philosophical (with most of my attention on depth of character and unique narratives in interesting worlds.)
Competitive rates and every client is unique - I don't mass-manufacture:
My rate is usually figured out at US$25-35/hr for writing mentor-based gigs. I charge US$65/hr for game content writing and US$50/hr for software testing or design document support.
I charge $40 for about 3hrs of work on a character design for which my style is full colour, full body, single figure, no background, hi def, commercial use, digital patchwork based on my pencil sketches - using Photoshop."
