Migrate Wordpress-site to Hugo (static site generator).

I am currently running a WordPress-based blog ([login to view URL]), and have recently been looking at different static site generator alternatives, such as Jekyll, Octopress, Pelican and Hugo. Out of these, Hugo appealed to me the most.

Although I will be making some changes later, I want the site to look as similar as possible to how it looks right now. I don’t need to migrate the comments, and have not decided how I will handle comments in the future (may disable them completely, or use a third-party-service such as Disqus). I don’t need to use the same kind of sharing-links at the bottom of posts, but I do need some kind of sharing links (Twitter, Facebook and Google+ at least). I don’t need to have the “You may also like” links at the bottom of posts (but I do want categories and/or tags).

I want the text in the markdown files for the posts to be wrapped at 78 columns (except for source code listings, which should not be altered in any way). Last but not least, I want proper syntax highlighting support, using roughly the same style and colorscheme as the current one. It’s not particularly important to me whether the syntax highlighting is done server-side, using something like Pygmentize, or client-side, using something like highlight.js. I want to have support for line numbers though, which [login to view URL] does not have out-of-the-box.

I am open for suggestions, in case there is a good reason for using some other static-site-generator than Hugo, but Hugo is my main choice.

I am really disappointed by the low quality of most of the bids I've received. Not a single one has showed me that they understand what the project is about.

Go look at gohugo.io, octopress.org, jekyllrb.com, and so on. They are called static-site-generators, since static pages are generated and deployed on each update, but the site itself will not be static. I will regularly be adding posts and making changes to the site, just as I would be when using WordPress (as I'm doing right now).

If you are not comfortable with command-line based work in Linux, or if you don't have any experience with static-site-generators such as Jekyll, Octopress or Hugo, don't apply. I did not post this job because I'm unable to do it on my own, I posted it because I have a lack of time, and need to spend my time on other things. If you apply for this job without even understanding what the project is about, you are wasting my time, and I'm soon at the point where I'll just do this myself instead of waiting for a freelancer that knows what he/she is doing.
