custom scrolling menu

Hi All,
I have a side nav menu that has so many items it needs to scroll. The menu items link to section tags on the same page, and when the user scrolls to one of the sections the menu item is highlighted. The problem is that when the user scrolls to a section that is beyond the bounds of the menu div, the highlighted menu item is hidden. We need to have the menu automatically scroll up or down to reveal the highlighted menu item.
We have already built this menu and document using twitter bootstrap... so all that needs to be done is the auto-scrolling feature. I will provide a link to the page to the top bidders.
