I have an accounting software developed in Visual Basic 6.0 (of about 40 forms and several reports) and i have a few clients who have been using the application now for more than 7 years and counting. These clients now have several branches and that has been the issue with the otherwise superb Vb6 app of mine. Currently, i still manage to run this app over the internet, using SQL connection string such as "Server=myServerAddress;Database=myDataBase;Trusted_Connection=True;", but the software is extremely slow (could take up to 5 minutes sometimes for a posted transaction to complete) and most times have disconnected connections and transactions. Now, i want to need a well experienced VB.NET / C# programmer who would convert the software to VB.NET / C#, so that the application can now easily and efficiently work on a web browser. The web application in the branches is also expected to connect to an existing MSSQL Server database in the head office I naturally think writing the software in VB.NET would enable me to continue managing and developing it since i have been a VB6 programmer for years but i would not mind the application is written in C# if its necessary and would make the application better. What i desire is the better programming language between VB.NET and C# for an accounting software that would be very very light on browser, that can work perfectly even with the slowest internet connection since most of these users are in remote areas with slow internet facilities, allow users post transactions in blazing speed, have more attractive GUI / Interface, be able to generate reports of up to 1,000 pages in 5 seconds or less, etc. I need this project done as soon as possible, please.

Friend I can help you with your requirement, like you know Visual Basic 6, a lot, but also for years migrate to VB.NET and C #, if you want so I can maintain it would be developed in VB.NET, but I think that it would be a PLUS to convert it once to C #, and we could manage two Databases .. A Local for the clients and a Centralized Server, but in each Client a process is placed that every so often, upload the information to the Central Server, without human intervention and your client will not worry about that. Also in my experience I was DBA SQL Server, so I could also provide optimization of Queries and Processes. I remain attentive to your contact Best regards.

C# would make it faster due to it being compiled, rather than interpreted at runtime like vb. I can do this no problem. Also c# is actually more logical in my mind than vb and easier to pick up on so you should have no problem continuing to work with it
