desktop application to interact with other applications

I need an application that:
- will give the user the option to choose one music between 3 given. (APP1)
- start to play that music in the background (can be via WMP or another app) (APP2)
- Photo app starts (APP3)
- After the photo, the screen goes back to the music options and music stops. (APP1)
