Configure ISP > VLAN Static IP on Server

We have a unique problem. We are supposed to deliver a Zentyal Ubuntu server to a client on an island. Their small ISP delivers the clients public static IP over a fiber network and requires the server is setup with a Tagged VLAN 1550 Interface.
We have never tagged a VLAN port for an ISP before. Typically this is not required. I need an expert in this area to tell me how to do it. It will be a very large problem if I show up on this island which is 5 miles off shore and do not know how to do this.
I know it is possible to configure a hardware switch before the server. However, our preferred solution is to do this only within the server as this is one less piece of hardware needed for all other clients also.

I can tag the network packets on vlan 1550 from Ubuntu side and if switch is properly configured then traffic will be routed properly.

you need first to install "sudo apt-get install vlan" than you can configure the vlan to the hardware network card for example to eth0 the 1550 vlan
