iPhone license plate application

For a large insurance company we have developed an Android app that scans the licence plate of a car using the phone camera and returns the car model details and price estimation using the company's Web service. You can have a look at the Android app (the app is in Dutch):

Now we need someone to port this application to the iOS 5 (and 4). Basically this only concerns creating the user interface based on the Android version, the character recognition (for the scanning) is done by us. We can provide Android source code and also the graphical design (Photoshop/Illustrator documents in vector format). The idea is that you make an iOS app that is (exactly) identical in functionality to the Android app. We expect from you that you fully understand the Android code and extract the requirements from the code. We use the Android application as a measure whether or not the project is successful. If you have difficulties in understanding the requirements we can provide support as we developed the Android version.

An iPhone version has already been developed but our collaboration with the developers has been discontinued and we do not have the source code. This is the current iPhone version:

Note that we only need the source code (and binary), you are not responsible for publishing the application.

## Deliverables

This is a basic summary of the functionality that has to be implemented:

**part I (search through license plate):**

* user enters license plate

* license plate is validated (we already have the correct regular expressions)

* a call to a web service is done to collect information on the car

* another call is made to another web service to collect information about the insurance

* the result of the call contains a status code (error checking is very important)

* the results are displayed

**part II (search through faceted search):**

* the user enters the brand, model, edition, etc..

* the results are displayed

**part III (the results page):**

* on the results page tabular information is displayed

* if insurance information was available, this has to be shown together with a button that leads to a screen with more detailed insurance calculation possibilities.

Please download either the Android or iPhone application to test and see the functionality. You can try 34-LS-JS as a license plate to try it out.

**To be clear:

only buttons 2 and 3 (middle and right) have to be implemented, the license plate scanning does not have to be implemented

Further notes:

* The application should be in Dutch, but if you implement everything in a way that we can replace the strings easily (e.g., putting English sentences in property files), then that is also fine.

* We appreciate modular, well-designed code.

* The application should run on iOS 4, for iPhone and iPad (optimized).

* It would be nice if we can have access to the code repository so that we are tightly involved in the development process (agile development), this enables us to give comments in an early stage (which is beneficial for both parties)

* We will provide test cases to test the application but keep in mind that these test cases will not cover all the functionality, this has to be extracted from the Android app.
