We are looking for a DBA for MySQL who can work remotely and help us configure/optimize and maintain out MySQL DBs. We are only looking for people who are US Citizen and are in US. If you are not from US please don't apply. To start with we want to engage in a 20 to 30 hour of health check and some tuning of the queries. Here is what we are looking for health check (but for MySQL) For each SQL Server, our health-check performance reviews include the following high-level items/activities: • Perform Performance Monitor data collections • Perform SQL Profiler trace event collections • Collect data from Dynamic Management View (DMV) queries as needed • Review Operating System and hardware setup and configuration • Review SQL Server and database settings, configuration and security permissions • Review database schema and object definitions • Review SQL Server database maintenance plans and schedules • Review SQL Error logs, Agent logs and Event Viewer logs • Observe and analyze active database transaction performance and query plans • Provide a written report, spreadsheet data, recommendations and next action items. This includes code changes, index modifications and documentation. Each SQL server typically takes anywhere from 4 - 8 hours to complete. Other factors such as environment variables like high availability solutions, replication or unusual data/access patterns can add complexity to the process and makes it difficult for me to give you an exact time estimate. If you were to ask for a fixed cost we would estimate 8 hours per server.
