GPS Tracking

GPS Tracking project has 3 software integrated components:

1. WEB SERVER - it will listen to any GPS device

2. WEB SITE - which will integrate the Google map plugin and a list of registered devices

3. Client Windows Mobile 6.X application to send GPS coordonates every x minutes

The project is best to be developed using Microsoft Tehnologies VB.Net, Asp.Net, MS SQL 2005 / 2008

## Deliverables

The project has three distinctive integrated components:

1. **WEB SERVER** - that will listen to registered GPS devices. It mean I have to register the GPS device before receiving data from him. For example if GPS device GPS1 send his geoghraphical coordinates to the WEB Server, the server should first check his identity.

2.? **WEB? SITE

**? ? ? ? ***GPS Registration*** - list with the registered devices that will contain the? folowing fields:?

? ? ? ? DeviceId - unique identifier

? ? ? ? DeviceModel - the GPS device model (for example)

? ? ? ? DeviceUser - First Name, Last Name

? ? ? ? The page will offer the posibility to add / modify / delete records

? ? ? ? ***GPS Tracking** -* will offer the posibility to view the device location by selecting it from? a list and be able to view it. The visualization will be made trough a map plugins Google. Practicaly on a selection from a list the map will point to a place on the map the device is. This will be marked on the map with something distinctive and will also allow reading the details of the GPS Device on map (DeviceUser/DeviceModel) by mouse over probably.

This will be done by interogating a database / table that will have all the devices registered and with their last GPS position received.

3.? **WINDOWS 6.x MOBILE APPLICATION -**? a windows mobile 6.x application that will querry the gps hardware from the device? for GPS position.

The application will have two features:

? ? ? ? 1. Record the GPS position every? x minutes? or x meters (customiseable option) (saving data to local database)

? ? ? ? 2. Record and transmit the GPS Position every? x minutes? or x meters (customiseable option)? to a web server trough GPRS, 3G , Internet.

For example:

? ? ? ? 1. We have to record GPS position of the device every 60 seconds and save it to the device database.

*At the end of the day all the records will be saved to a computer to be able to calculate the distance made by the device that day.*

*In these project I'm only interested on recording on local database.

? ? ? ? 2.* The windows mobile application is set to transmit every 5 minutes his GPS coordinates to the WEB Server.

The client application will do that as long as the device is on, so it will be application that will run in the windows tray.

Each device will have a unique identification see DeviceID.

I'll test the application on two different devices having both GPS and Windows Mobile.
