Custom Built PHP eCommerce Solution

We are looking to rebuild our entire online store to gain stronger features in order management, inventory control, third party support and customer experience. (please read extra documentation attached)

We currently run our web servers with a LAMP framework, and would like a customized solution built within PHP.

**The Problem:**

Our site uses the open source build of Zen Cart, a PHP based shopping cart and order management system. Over the years Rugsale development team has made many custom changes throughout every part of the add-in code and core code making it near impossible to further upgrade to newly built Zen Cart modules and releases.

We have outgrown the Zen Cart usability and features and we now start requiring more features than are available to us now. We look for such features that will give us a competitive edge over our direct and non-direct competitors and stronger and more reliable order management features that provide easy user interface and operation.

**The Solution:**

Collaborate with a development team long term to help us build a cart that will help meet our goals and not just build a cart system initially, but also help with future development of add-ons. The online retail business is aggressive and constantly using new technologies and marketing methods to push them to the front line, so we will need to be able to keep up with this fast pace and hopefully be able to think ahead and not fixing what’s behind.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
