1). Integration of a 3rd party content authoring system which feeds content to our site using an API to call XML or JSON tagged news stories

2). An overhaul of the login system which currently isn't working for us

The login requirements are:

Level 1: Free subscriber will sign up via a contact form on our web site (we will now use Mailchimp for newsletters as our new partner integrates with it: [url removed, login to view])

- Free subscribers will be able to view a newsletter archive

Level 2: Paid subscribers will have access to content tagged as premium in the content management system (3rd party vendor will add premium tag to certain content)

I believe we can just use the Joomla! user hierarchy for the different user types but let me know

Also, a solution to the issue of users not being brought to linked content once they enter their login details (it shows a blank page with their logged in user name)

Single topic pages:

We will be adding pages by topic (TV, Print, Digital) each single topic page will need the correct feed passed by the 3rd party application.

Sharing:

Will need clear social sharing on news stories as well (Google+, Facebook, Twitter).
