New Joomla Site for Uni Students

Design Brief for My Uni Grades My uni grades is a site to help students keep track of their academic progress through their university course. We want to create a site where a student can choose their course, select their subject and enter their goals and marks. The purpose is to help students set and achieve their academic targets. This brief is only a summary for privacy reasons, the successful applicant will receive all of our information. This website will need the following features and functionality. 1) Log in using face book or set up new account a. If logging in via facebook, basic information to be transferred to user profile on our site. b. If making new profile, form to be set up with required information 2) User profile with basic information a. name, age etc and other specific information to be advised to successful applicant 3) Ability to set degree and choose ‘courses’ with assessments, weightings, occurrence already set. Users will enter their marks here a. The administrator will need the ability to enter in new courses with relevant information (to be supplied) 4) Goals: students will enter their preferred goal as either as an attainment, overall percentage or GPA. 5) Academic summary page to show how the student is tracking compared to goals set a. We want the ability to show a graphical representation of academic progress compared to goals set. 6) We also require google ads to be set up on our page. We have spreadsheets to show how most calculations need to be done along with the general layout. Other calculations we can advise you of how they need to work. The technical requirements will be as follows 1) Build on Joomla 2.5 2) Use the following plugins as we think these will be most suitable. They will be supplied to you: a. Proforms b. JFB connect c. Plot A lot d. Template using Gantry Framework. The successful applicant will have 1) Fluent English 2) Ability to communicate to non-technical founders 3) Experience using Joomla, its extensions and has a portfolio for us to review 4) Able to advise us on best course of action for layout 5) SQL, CSS, HTML knowledge We have some web building experience but need someone to do the initial set up. This is only the core product we wish to bring to market. We will want to add functionality to the site as we progress so we need to find a developer that we can build a good working relationship with.
