We have a software web shop, written in PHP, based on Salesforce. That is, our PHP scripts get all the
data (details for items on sale, customer profiles, licenses etc .etc.) from our database at Salesforce.
This works fine, but data retrieval from Salesforce is very, very slow.
Much slower than we would expect, even considering ping times, temporary Salesforce congestion or other things.
There are many reasons for this we could think of:
- we are using an old / outdated / inefficient API
- we are using the API the wrong way
- our SOAP calls are slippery
- we are accessing an American Salesforce server, but they possibly have a european mirror that we could use
Since we don't know too much about Salesforce's internal, we are lóoking for someone would could adivice us on this matter.
This someone could
- take a look at how we generally use which API / how we access Salesforce
- evaluate whether this is a good way , or point us to a better way
- show us the difference by rewriting one of our calls / pages
You don't have to rewrite our application. We actually want to do that ourselves. And we would really, really like to
