Change existing Joomla restaurant order plugin and add functionality

We have implemented an existing food order plugin. Users can select a dish, and optionally select extra toppings. We need to change the system so that on some dishes, user needs to chose some mandatory options. (for exmaple, when user selects complete meal, he needs to chose a drink and a sauce. )
System running website is Joomla CMS, latest version.
