Since you have mentioned PHP , I am assuming your software needs to be a web-based one. I am an independent developer with 25 years of experience. I dont do too many projects on Freelancer, since I have my regular clients across the world. Once in a while if I see an interesting project on Freelancer, I bid for it. I have extensive experience developing mail related softwares as well as working and setting up mail servers . I have good knowledge of POP3, SMTP and IMAP protocols which all mail servers use. I have developed bulk mailing applications, spam mail detection and various related mail software both for Linux and Windows. Among web-based email marketing platforms, I have experience with Mailgun, Mailchimp, Interspire and Constant Contact. I am comfortable developing in the following languages: PHP, c++, c#, Python, Java. I am assuming you need a web based application with at least the following features: - Contact Lists allowin subscribers to opt-in or unsubscribe - HTML based email templates with mail merge - Creation of email campaigns with tracking and reporting - Spam control - Blacklists and whitelists - Admin dashboard with reporting and monitoring Regarding payments, I generally quote either a fixed sum for a project or work out a monthly rate for ongoing work. I have both worked with mailing list systems (SalesForce, ConstantContact etc.) as well as writting my own emailling systems. I would like to hear you specific reasons for moving away from an existing package. I had a client who was working with ConstantContact. CC didn't allow the types of selectivity he wanted for emails and also he wanted more flexibility in creating templates. At first I used the API for CC to add funciontality for him. As he wanted more functionality I eventually wrote an entire CRM for him. For email marketing you want to be able to: 1) Easily create templates 2) Create "send to" scenarios based on any fields or combination of fields with the client database 3) Update/insert into the client database easily from a web form, an Excel file or an other application 4) Be able to track responses to the emails by user, campaign, user attributes (db fields) About me: I have a Master's degree in Computer Science (Ohio State University) and 30+ of software development experience.
