Buddypress/Wordpress Display Groups and Group Forums in Menu

I have a Wordpress site using the latest version of Wordpress/Buddypress on a local machine with the Thrive theme ([url removed, login to view]). I am trying to get the Groups and Group Forums to display dynamically in the lefthand nav menu but have been stuck.
The way it is set up now, I have the default Buddypress Menu Items displayed on my leftside nav menu (Forums, Activity, Messages, Groups, etc.). If the user clicks Forums, it only takes them to the Forum Topics they started. If the user clicks Groups, it takes them to their groups. I know how to add static pages to the menu but because each user's groups and group forums will be dependent on that user, this is where I got stuck.
I want Buddypress/Wordpress to be able to pull the Groups and the Group Forums (that were already set up from the Buddypress Groups) and dynamically populate the menu. More specifically, I want them to appear as an expandable menu item where when the user clicks on Forums or Groups they see the corresponding Group Forums or Groups. You can see the picture for an example.
