I'm looking to build a mobile application/online platform that I can host on my website and also via (apple store/google play) application store. The application/platform I'm trying to build will be a way for our clients to build and design their own system right from their mobile device or computer. The purpose of this platform is to make it easier and quicker for a customer to know and understand what it is they're getting and also what they will be paying. Another purpose for this platform will be for our staff to use as well, so if a customer has questions and doesn't know what something is, we can walk them through the steps as well. I see this platform being modeled after our company brand of being luxury, simple and intuitive. I want my customer to feel like they are in full control.
Just to give you some background on my company and what we do:
Our company installs home automation and security systems. We have a large list of units to work into this software. Approximately 600 items to be more specific. We install lighting control, temperature control, window device control and security control systems.
The platform I'm wanting to build will be interactive and very thorough. I want my clients to be able to know all of the options that are available to them through every step of the system. Starting out by asking them to submit their information first.
Steps of the system are as follows:
1. Once they submit their information they are prompted to pull up a google map of their physical location.
2. After the google location it then asks if it's a home or office location.
3. I want them to then see all of the services we provide and to be able to choose the ones they want to move forward with. Also if they don't know what something is, I want a way for them to get a better understanding rather quickly.
4. Here are some examples of what happens next;
ex. 1) Say they choose to have a home security alarm system they start of by being asked what the square footage of their home is and how many exterior windows they have. Next they enter how many exterior entry doors they have including garage doors. After that, they are given the option to ad monitoring on any other interior doors. Next they are asked how many rooms they want motion detection there are and what the approximate square footage is for that room including the height of the ceiling. During this process I want them to be able to see the devices with a small picture. Next I want them to choose what kind of a security system they want and the keypads that are available to them.
ex. 2) Say they want a camera system. It's going to walk them through what kind of cameras they want, inside, outside, low light camera's, inferred cameras, bullet cameras, dome cameras, hidden cameras. There is a camera tool platform that we use now that I can demo for you to give you a better idea of how this part will look as well.
ex. 3) Say they want home automation, what kind of device control they will want and how many iPads they will need in their home to operate the system. (I'm sure by know you have a pretty good idea)
5. Next step I want them to see what the system is going to cost and be given the option for our company to install the system with the cost for installation.
The alarm/intrusion systems we install are Elk Products
The camera systems we install are Avigilon
The home automation software we use is Savant.

I'm sure there will be a lot of questions. I'm certainly do not have a degree in computer science and I am not a software engineer. Please keep in mind that I may need to have information deciphered to better understand what exactly you need from me and how I can help you going forward.
