13 year old website needs to be modified / updated including the following items. I will provide $75 for a website audit. Then a second milestone to fix the issues you find, including the items below. Please send me a sample of a website audit you have completed. I will then release the milestone to you. Ideally, you will be able to provide a reference of SEO traffic improvements. • Create schema markup • Speed and mobile issues: o Need to enable compression. o Need to use browser caching. o Need to optimize image files. o Need to defer scripts. o Consider using a CDN or switching hosting provider (first contentful paint takes 1.1 seconds). • Title tags are shorter than necessary and need to be better optimized. • Meta description tags need to be better optimized. Includes category pages and individual profile pages. • H1’s should include the word “About”. Example: “About Soda Web Media”. • Change/shorten URL structures. • Certain companies see a good number of branded search queries. We need to particularly optimize those pages for traffic. • Each company profile page needs more content, unique content. • 5 pages have multiple versions and thus duplicate content and duplicate title and meta description tags. • Many many pages have little content. Overall, the site needs more content on every page. Some pages may need to be merged. • The blog articles likewise contain too little text. Many of these can be merged into longer articles. New articles should be at a minimum 1500 words in length or longer. • The site uses no schema markup or structured data. There are many opportunities and good uses for schema throughout the site which would result in better rankings and traffic. • The website needs to use more interlinking so that the SEO “power” of the site and of various flows through to other pages.
