I would like to have a feature tool added to a Java based 3D modeling application. The application is a fork of the Art of Illusion application. The tool should allow a user to click on the drawing area in three points and have a dimension markup render on the screen and save to the project file.
The dimension should be displayed using multiple line segments and placeholders for numerical values that will be updated later to display the actual distance dimension. The dimension should look like a typical CAD dimension application tool.
A possible implementation could have the dimension composed of multiple curve objects such that when a user clicks the first two points two lines are generated out in the direction of the third point and the other joining line curves and distance line segments added on top.
I would like the dimension to be saved to the project file so that it loads with a project when re opening.
I have added a placeholder interface for using this new dimension tool with the following file:

If you are interested in working on this please provide and estimate of time required along with a quick description of how you would implement it. I will need this information to asses weather I will implement this myself or have it done for me
The code base is available here: [login to view URL]
An example of a dimension I would like to be added can be found here: [login to view URL]
