Hello, I have a exe file which is simply executable on any windows pc. What I want to do is, I want to restrict that to company premises and on the pcs under it. Whats my plan: I want to enclose/wrap the exe file under a installable software. When we run that software, it first get the server mac address and send to server and server will return true/false. If its true, it runs the exe otherwise show a message that you are not authorized. This needs to work on windows 7 and 8. No other OS necessary at the time. EXE must be kept inside the app So, its not directly accessible from anywhere. I also need to be able to change exe in future. I need EXPERIENCED programmer for this. I have many similar windows OS projects for the right developer. I would prefer developers and not agencies.

Hello, I'm an expert in VB.NET with 10 years of experience. I have a piece of code that can retrieve the mac address. You just need to add the server name and the mac address to compare to into the code. If the retrieved mac address matches the one that is in the code, the program will proceed, otherwise it will stop. To protect your original executable, I propose to embed it into the new executable. This way it is compiled inside the new one and not visible anymore. It is then called from the new exe. I have done this procedure several dozen times with other applications I made. But I only did it with .NET exe's. In what language is your application written? Hope to hear from you soon. Best regards Wesley

Hello, I have extensive experience in .Net (C#), working in the software development industry for more than five years i have worked on developing complex applications in almost all areas e.g. Desktop apps, web apps, web services, WPF, WCF, Web API etc. A wrapper application will be developed for the described EXE, which will wrap the EXE. The EXE wouldn't be run directly but by the wrapper application, once the wrapper is run it will query the server providing the MAC address of the server and server will return a flag specifying whether to run the exe or not. The wrapper software will be written in C#.Net, more details can be discussed in PM. Thank You
