We have a desktop application developed in .exe format. We need to share this file with multiple users but we need to have a control on no. of users installing this .exe file We need solution for below 2 aspects: 1) Code needs to be obfuscated & the source code should not be readable - it should be safe & secure that any available tools/ software cannot decode it 2) The application has to be installed in any system after we authorise (be it a unique key/ passcode/ other means). Once the secured .exe file is installed in a system, it should not be allowed to be installed in other system by end user. For point 2 above, we prefer to have a non-internet dependent solution.

I have a solution for you. I have already implemented this in past. 1- A counter(no of licenses) can be embedded in your exe itself. But for this, I have to modify your exe code little bit and recompilation of your exe code is needed. 2-I can create a new start up program and will embed the counters in it and it will invoke your exe after license check. In this case you have modify your exe code so that it should not get executed on double mouse click. It should accept some command line param and this param, my startup program will pass to your exe. Let me know your views.
