Data Center Virtualisation 2020: Objective: • Virtualisation (Compute, Network and Storage) has transformed the way that the Data Centre provides infrastructure and application services to customers internal and external alike. VMware has become the most popular vendor in the area of virtualization and the choice of many organisations, however it isn’t the only vendor providing both Enterprise Data Center Server and Desktop Virtualized services. There are others who also provide similar services. In this assignment you are asked to conduct research and compile a written report on a comparative analysis of three different vendors involved in the area of Data Center Virtualization and three vendors who are leaders in the deployment of Cloud Storage. These vendors are the following; ● VMware ● Microsoft ● Citrix In your report you are asked to include the following as part of your comparative analysis; ● A design (Diagram) of the three vendor Architectures (VMware, Microsoft and Citrix) [20 Marks] ● A comparison of their enterprise server and desktop services including their hypervisors. [30 marks] ● Compilation of the key the services that each of the vendors provide when compared with each of the other vendors. [30 Marks] ● A recommendation as to which Vendor(s) you would recommend if you were advising a company to virtualize their data center. The font should be size 12, Arial, and 1.5 spacing. The report should be limited to 3000 words excluding the introduction, contents and appendices. Include ● a title page containing the title of your report with your name, student number, title of the course and module ● an introduction page which briefly introduces your topic and a summary of what the document contains. ● A bibliography of all sources of information. Marking Guidelines: Marks awarded will be calculated based on the quality of research conducted by students and on the completeness, consistency and accuracy of the final report. TurnitIn: The Turnitin software will be used to identify any plagiarism which maybe present.
