Technical Brochure The technical brochure is as an electronic two-sided A3 sheet / four-sided A4 gatefold document uploaded in a PDF format. A technical brochure is an informative document used for promotional purposes to inform prospective customers about the purpose, operation and benefits of a technical product. The brochure will include illustrations of the product (usually shown in its operational context), diagrams that show overall dimensions and working envelope of any mechanisms, and a summary of its technical specification. The technical brochure will demonstrate that the crux of the design task is understood, the functional requirements and performance criteria are fully defined, and that the solution proposed is fit for purpose and fulfils all requirements. [login to view URL] Drawings Technical drawings are generated from the 3D CAD models of your technical solution and should be uploaded in a PDF format. The drawing package will include: · General Arrangement (GA) drawing of the overall system with a bill of materials. The GA is a scale drawing that shows the final overall form and dimension of the technical system – it shows the layout of individual components and their spatial relationship to others in the overall scheme; a bill of material will list the components in the assembly and reference part and/or assembly drawing as appropriate; key overall dimensions would be included and the overall working envelope of mechanisms illustrated, e.g. using trace paths. · Detailed drawings of one of the major functional elements. Detailed drawings will show the form and dimension of a single component using multiple orthographic views – its shows the dimensions, tolerances and surface finishes of each and every feature; it specifies the material used and any production processes required to manufacture the component; section views, detailed views and auxiliary views are used to show the true shape and size of hidden, small or oblique features respectively. The performance analysis report documents the critical performance capability and fitness of purpose of the technical solution proposed – it is a factual document that succinctly presents the outcomes of the engineering analysis work carried out during embodiment design. The performance analysis report should be structured as follows: · Main Body: A succinct, factual document with critical performance data summarised in tables, graphs, and annotated diagrams. Fundamental working principles of the technical solution should be outlined and the analytical models used to evaluate performance stated. Key design decisions in the synthesis of the solution should be stated succinctly in bullet-point form rather than prose. Reference the appendices throughout. Appendices: The appendices should be a complete record of the performance analysis, detailing each calculation from first principles, spatial assessment, or functionality simulation. We suggest that each analytical model be recorded in a separate, discrete appendix, which can be referenced from the Main Body.
