This project is to redesign a test fixture for a high power laser diode bar (HPLDB). The current test fixture has the following features or performs a function. 1. HPLDB and thermal interface material is secured to the fixture with screws. 2. Electrical bus bars are used to connect positive and negative terminals to the positive and negative connections of the HPLDB. Hundreds of amps flows through the connection. 3. Water flows through the fixture to cool the HPLDB during operation. The main issue with the fixture is that screws are used to clamp the bar to the fixture. Two screws hold the bar, four more screws attach the positive and negative bus bars. The current design is the same way the HPLDB is held in the end product, but securing with screws is not good for manufacturing and is time consuming. Would prefer to use an electrically actuated clamp of some sort to hold the HPLDB to the fixture and make the bus bar connections. The forces need to be on the order of hundreds of newtons to be the equivalent of the screws.

Hi, thank you for your project in freelancer. Ok. You need to replace the screws for an actuated clamp, but just a first question and think at the worst possibility : It worthy ? Because, to create a hundred of newton forces by clamps you need to make this connection like a hydraulic clamp, and what is the possibility ?
