I am bilingual (English 1st/native language, French 2nd language), and would like to do translation from French to English.
I prefer to work on a flat fee basis with deadlines, rather than being paid hourly. This way I can give the projects the time I feel I need to do my best work, without worrying about whether I am causing you to go over-budget or not.
I would suggest $3.50-$6 (US) per 100wds, depending on the complexity of the text, but I am open to negotiation.
I am available for ongoing projects, at a rate of 1000 to 1500 words per week.
I can also translate from English to French but would recommend having the final version of those projects proofread by a native French speaker for the more complex grammatical structures and idiomatic/cultural nuances. There would be relatively few corrections needed, most likely, but, although I am mostly fluent in French - I earned my bilingual certificate from secondary school, and passed the Government of Canada employee French certification at Level C for reading and writing, and Level B for oral (“A” is the lowest level, “C” is the highest level before “F”, which signifies “fluent - equivalent to native French speaker”) - I would not guarantee the translation into French would be flawless.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
Sincerely,
Christine
