The initial system can be either pc or web based but since this is for in store use a customer will not need to use shopping basket or checkout features.. more importantly for us is that after completing a design the customer is given an order number for example 53 which they make a note of and take to a cashier with their chosen garment the cashier can then call up the order number 53 collect payment and give the customer a time usually from 20 mins to 2 hrs to return for the completed order. The order number is then attached to the garment and passed to the decorator who will pull the order up on another pc that order number will stay with the garment until collected by the customer.. Pricing. The biggest complaint we have with current off the shelf systems is pricing, we have a retail based outlook and simply put we charge for the amount of vinyl used ie A blank t-shirt costs £5, starting price for printing is £7 for an area 300mm across by 120mm down so whether the print is a small breast logo or full line across the chest the cost would be £12 each additional 120mm of print would be £2 so a t-shirt with small logo on front and name on back would be £14.. But we also offer discounts on certain choices ie a hoody with matching logo from a selection of 20 images front and back with name would be £24 as opposed to the size pricing method which would work out at £30 giving the customer a better perceived value and increasing the speed of the selection process. Secondary features.... We offer many services in store and different types of print technique from vinyl cad cut materials , direct to garment printing rhinestones and a full catalogue of graphics and images such as the entire range of wicked artz cars [login to view URL] it would be a great feature if we treat each range or technique as a separate module therefore one pc can be set up to display only the wicked artz car choices with the ability to add additional text whereas the pc’s in the vinyl area of our store can be altered by deselecting the wicked artz module and digital clipart leaving just simple graphics and text entry etc a separate module might be needed for embroidery, rhinestone, plastisol transfers, appliqué, vinyl and direct to garment... Making the system work with our current website by adding iframe and shopping basket link.. For simplicity the order number could be jotted down on a post it note next to the pc but extra merit will be given if a programmer can incorporate a printout from a small receipt style printer next to the kiosk... Another feature we get asked for alot is the ability to upload images from a camera phone using Bluetooth we currently do this manually but giving the customer the option to upload and edit automatically would be nice.. Output to cutting software, all current clipart and images for the vinyl range are already vectorized and on file it would simplify things for the decorator if the file he received was ready for entry to our cutting software avoiding the need to re enter the most simple text and logo designs. Future Licensing, Going forward I feel alot of the ideas my team and I are having are not currently being offered at present and with the right programmer working with us we should have a very marketable product..We are planning to be showing our various specialist print techniques at UK skows this year and this might be a great platform from which to launch such a software soloution. If willing to partner with us we could both benefit from ongoing sales of the software..
