Introduction: Innovative social media company looking for web design/architecture company to create an e-commerce, video, and blog based network with full functionality for consumers and businesses. The site is broken into 4 main areas: Learn; Shop; Connect; and Experience (event calendar). Members should be able to navigate between each of the 4 main areas without losing their place in the areas they are already in. Site should be intuitive, initially highlighting content most relevant to the member's profile, learning from their ongoing activity within the site and, ultimately, recommending products and content the site determines would be of interest to the member based on previous activity within the site. A site map diagram outlining the full site has been developed and can be shared prior to contract execution. As well, artwork demonstrating initial design concept has been completed (note: the art-work is for visual representation of initial design concept only and is not written in code). We have included the artwork images relevant to phase 1 with this request for bids. All elements of the design are up for discussion (including logo development, general site colors, fonts, layout, and user navigation). Expert input and creativity is welcome and desired. NOTE: IT WILL BE CRITICAL THAT THE SITE IS SET UP FOR EASY ONGOING CONTENT MANIPULATION/ADDITION/REMOVAL BY A SITE ADMINISTRATOR WITH NO WEB EXPERTISE. WE ANTICIPATE REGULAR CONTENT UPDATES (BOTH VIDEO AND TEXT-BASED) AND WILL NEED TO REGULARLY UPDATE FEATURED IMAGES TO KEEP THE SITE VISUALLY FRESH. Project is in 5 phases. Phase 1 Design and build: • Site entry, home page, and infrastructure for sub-category pages: about us; our certification; overview of experience; contact us; our foundation • Login for current members • “JOIN US!” member sign up including photo to 3D animation profile image conversion technology (Note: Registration should be code encrypted. Users visible by username only. Confirmed registration via submitted email.) • Search functionality (we are looking for a very visual - image based - search function; similar to bing/google images; based on user keyword/phrase entry with ability to narrow results by standard site categories; administrator should have a record of search results by user; batch search functionality) (SEE SCREEN SHOTS PROVIDED FOR VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF CONCEPT - CREATIVE SUGGESTIONS, BOTH IN TERMS OF DESIGN AND NAVIGATION ARE WELCOME.) Conceptualize and present concept for: • Site intuition - how it will learn member preferences and make recommendations based on initial profile development and ongoing site activity • Navigation within and between four primary site areas (SHOP, LEARN, EXPERIENCE, CONNECT) • Non-Expert site administration - how the back-end of the site will allow a non-web expert to easily replicate templated pages, add/remove both video and text-based content • Banner advertising within the site structure Please Note: We are interested in working with a developer who has done this type of work before. Must be able to demonstrate proposed solutions. Must deliver UI design and be able to provide a prototype for approval. We anticipate further development work, which will be allocated to the successful candidate under contract, as well as potential ongoing maintenance opportunities. We anticipate the site will be built in HTML/CSS templates built to W3C standards and integrate a Content Management System (CMS). It must be fully tested and secure. CMS should produce accessibility code enabling Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Priority 3 (AAA) website.
