In order to guarantee effective communication in multilingual environments, a lingua franca is a must, but practically nonexistent and here comes translation to save the day. I am an Egyptian physician who has always taken learning languages for his chief hobby. Growing up in a multilingual milieu, I picked up English and French speaking them naturally and fluently. Arabic is my native language. But it never satisfied me to have languages as only hobbies, so I took it a step further by indulging in multiple professional courses of translation in addition to participating in translation workshops to hone on my translation skills.
