Received extensive training on laboratory procedures for the cytogenetic and molecular analysis of various genetic syndromes. These included cell cultivation, G-banding, DNA extraction from blood lymphocytes and fetal tissues, PCR based methodologies (ARMS-PCR, multiplex PCR, MS-PCR), gel electrophoresis, mutation screening, DNA sequencing, MLPA, a-CGH.

Examination of the expression patterns of wipf1a and acap1 genes in the zebrafish embryos.
Hematopoiesis is a conserved process across vertebrates and is divided into three waves, the primitive, the prodefinitive and definitive. The emergence of HSCs occurs in the ventral wall of the dorsal aorta through an endothelial-to-hematopoietic transition. In this experiment, the isolation of qmc551transgenic line proposed the wipf1a and acap1 genes as candidate hemogenic endothelial genes as they are located in the same cohort with the runx1 and gfi1aa genes, two potential hemogenic cells.
