## BIO
I am a college senior in computer networks and systems, which ironically has very little to do with my field of expertise: programming. I am completely self taught in VB, Access and SQL Server (including T-SQL). When I was 16 I worked at a marina where one of my many jobs was calculating end of month boater reports from TONS of boater log sheets. I decided that there had to be a better way and found access as the solution. By the next boating season I had an access app that basically ran our marina. By the time I turned 18 I had developed 4 other database apps (for peanuts) which to the best of my knowledge are still in use. My senior year in high school I went to work for a networking consultant / web developer for half the day of school. I learned ASP, Cold Fusion & CF Components, Flash & Flash Remoting while doing web dev work for that company. After completing my freshmen year in college, I landed an internship with Allstate Insurance Corporate HQ on the Windows Server Platform Engineering team (I was 2 years younger than the second youngest intern there). At allstate I was involved with the deployment of 225 servers for their master claims offices. Before I got there, the process of configuring a fresh installed server took 3.5 hours and about 1 actual man hour. After a few weeks I cut the process down to 30 minutes total and 10 minutes of actual work (including verification). This small innovation saved allstate roughly $70,000 over the following year. The summer following my internship at allstate, I did some freelance web development for a township [login to view URL] with the intent of making it a template to sell to other townships (although I quickly lost interest in finding more townships to sell it to... I like programming ALOT more than sales). BTW, I would be willing to sell the code to somebody who DOES like sales. In march of 2004 I started working for my college's Educational and Career Counseling Center who were struggling with the reports they needed to produce on the students who attended counseling session and workshops. A year later I have their office running paperless using an app with access as a front end and SQL server 2k as a back end. Currently I am still making minor tweaks to the Counseling app as my main job. I am in the process of starting up a company which specializes in database apps, network design and web development.
