My background as a native speaker of Japanese who is also fluent in both written and spoken English provides me with the right skill set for jobs that need a thorough understanding of Japanese and foreign culture/language.
I’ve had various experiences working with both languages, most recently having worked with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Committee in social media management, responsible for content creation and post scheduling on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram, using software such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator and Khoros to create engaging posts that would appeal to audiences from different countries.
I also worked with local Japanese teams to localize international content to further suit Japanese culture, effectively analyzing what is accepted by the locals and what isn't. I have also worked on projects with companies such as Kyodo News(Kyodo Digital), creating online content to advise foreigners on life in Japan.
In addition, I worked in customer service at the IT management company Bell System 24 for around 5 years, where I handled customer inquiries in Japanese and English, both over the phone and via online chat, personalizing my response to suit the needs of each individual customer. I have also managed client communications with private companies such as Ammax Inc. and Adapt Inc., handling communication with both domestic and international clients. In doing so I worked with a very diverse range of clients, using both written and spoken Japanese and English to modify my tone in order to achieve the best possible outcome in each situation.
