OBJECTIVE: I am an experienced network security analyst seeking a challenging and responsible position wherein I can expand my skills and work in a team atmosphere to support and enhance the security of the network. QUALIFICATIONS: My qualifications include working in a complex environment comprised of Windows 2000, XP, and several flavors of UNIX. I have extensive experience with setting up and administering Snort (Proprietary and Open Source), Apache, Nagios, MySql, and Nessus. I have worked on numerous projects in C, C++, PHP, and PERL. WORK HISTORY 10-01-04 - 11-17-04 Intel - Desktop Platforms Group - Network security: Working under the head of DPG security I have performed the task of setting up a Sourcefire network sensor to monitor internal traffic; written Perl scripts to automate the discovery of unknown systems. Designed and implemented a laptop intrusion detection system that can be easily deployed and administered from a central server. 7-20-04 - 9-19-04 Deutscher Bundestag - IT Department: Worked independently on the pilot of Nagios ([login to view URL]), a network monitoring system. This involved writing custom plug-ins, putting Open Source components together to create a complete web interface to the Nagios configuration, and creating a fall back server in the event of a main server outage. The pilot’s success resulted in the Deutscher Bundestag's move from a proprietary system (BMC Patrol) to Nagios as their core network health monitoring system. 7-08-01 - 7-14-03 Intel - Desktop Platforms Group - Customer Support: Working with a team of thirty people we provided technical assistance for Intel employees on multiple platforms ranging from UNIX (SunOS, HPUX, and Linux) to Windows 2000 and Windows XP. System Administration tasks included Network account maintenance and scripting in Perl to help automate tasks. I was recognized on several occasions for the resolution of a high volume of trouble calls per week. 11- 1999 - 4-15- 00 Wunderland Video Arcade: Duties included repairing coin operated machines, cashier, and customer service. 4-1998 - 11-1998 Safeway - Courtesy Clerk: Duties included stocking shelves, customer service, and bagging groceries.
