The average growth rate of market
capitalization of common stocks, treasury bonds, mutual funds, corporate bonds & debentures are 71.02%,
124.74%, 99.85% and 105.41% respectively. The growth of market capitalization of all products is high. There
is lot of scope in the market for absorbing the new products. The share of common stocks, treasury bond,
corporate bond, debentures, mutual funds to total market capitalizations are 87.73%, 12.25%, 0.24%,0.17% and
0.83% respectively.

The export and import of Bangladesh with BIMSTEC and SAFTA remain same with fluctuating trend. But total deficit o f trade and growth of deficit are increasing with fluctuating trend. However, the export - import ratio is increasing after the functioning of BIMSTEC. The trade performance of Bangladesh with D-8 after functioning is not satisfactory. The percentage of export has declining but import has rising trend. The total trade deficit is increasing with the fluctuating growth trend.

The export performance of Bangladesh with member countries has increased and the average import growth has decreased after functioning of BIMSTEC. (24.11% to 21.11%) but the change of trade deficit is not significant statistically.

total import. The growth rate of with ‘east and south east countries’ is steady. The
trade deficit with ‘east and south East Asian’ countries is increasing over the periods.

The abnormal return and cumulative abnormal return are calculated with market adjusted model. The event window is 30 days. The abnormal return and cumulative abnormal return are evaluated for significance using t-test. The findings of the study reveal that the reaction of stock prices to increasing cash dividend announcement is statistically significant. The evidence tends to support the dividend signaling hypothesis.

The average contribution of service sector, industry and agriculture sectors are 49.33%, 28.42%, 22.25% respectively. The growth rate of service sector, industry sector and agriculture sector are 6.17%, 7.49% and 3.21% respectively. For the given period the growth rate of agriculture sector is found to be lower than service sector and industry sector. The average employment in Agriculture, Industry, Service to total employment are 58.89%, 12.39% and 25.36% respectively.
