I am here for serious business. I am also here to stay and grow strong. Freelance work is my sole source of income, so I'm only doing the right thing to try to be professional.
But what does it take to be a professional freelancer? It could mean a lot of things, but specifically, amongst other things it means:
- do not post generic bids
- ask for clarifications when the descriptions/requirements are not clear (assumptions based on implied meaning could be wrong)
- be fair in cost estimation (do not bid too high)
- be strict in time estimation (do not promise a too early delivery)
- be precise in details (if your solution requires compromises, make the client aware of them)
- welcome longer discussions if the situation calls for one
